How does
the laser work?
The laser
emits a gentle beam of light that passes through the skin to the
hair follicle where it is absorbed by the melanin of the hair. The
laser energy
is transformed into heat, which destroys the hair follicle leaving
the surrounding skin unaffected. The skin is further protected during
treatment by the cooling of the upper layers, which also provides
patients with increased comfort. This helps to protect the skin,
while effectively treating the unwanted hair.
Is it permanent?
The FDA has approved our state-of-the-art
laser for permanent hair reduction.
Does it hurt?
The degree of discomfort varies depending on each person's pain
threshold. Most patients describe treatment as mildly uncomfortable,
but not painful. Our laser has a patented cooling device to safely
and comfortably perform the treatment.
What to expect?
The patient
and the practitioner wear safety eyewear for protection during the
procedure.
The average procedure
can take as little as 10 minutes or up to an hour, depending on
the area treated and other factors.
The treated area
may become pink or red within 30 minutes of treatment. This may
last from a few hours to several days and is relieved with the application
of ice or cooling gels.
Do I qualify for laser treatment?
There are many factors which determine whether a patient can be
treated. These vary from hair and skin color to one's medical history.

Lasers are fast, safe, effective
and widely used as a compliment to electrolysis.
Our clinic combines both these treatment methods in order to provide
our patients with the quickest, most comfortable permanent hair
removal possible.
